Lasky, Jesse

Lasky, Jesse
(1880-1958)
   American film producer. Born in San Francisco, he appeared in vaudeville and later formed the Jesse L. Lasky Feature Play Company which merged with the firm of Adolph Zukor in 1916. The Famous Players-Lasky Corporation became known as Paramount. He was in charge of the West Coast operations until the early 1930s.
